One of Gretsch's hardest to find vintage guitars. The JET 21. Made approx 1949 to 1953. This was a few short years before Gretsch made the first Duo Jet, also famous for being black. This is Solid spruce top and sounds amazing due to very thin application of finish and "dried for decades" spruce wood. Discontinued by Gretsch to stop confusion with duo jet... G U I T A R Solid spruce top - vintage arch top • Boomy tone • Dark original finish • Nice frets • Has vintage Gretsch hard shell logo case • Has electronics under top - inside bidy • Standard 1/4" plug • Great bridge • Black button tuners / only set ever on guitar. • 16.5" inches wide (approx) • 24 3/4" scale (bridge to nut) • Tight original set neck joint - no repair, damage or pull up. • Has a green felt strap protector in back (40's) • Spruce has aged 60-70 years...Great tone! • Real Gretsch nuts/fans should be realizing that this white guard material is the same as the illusive white 54 duo jet pickguard. It is! • Google it. It lasts better than any other Gretsch guard material they ever used. Ever! • Original guard bracket and rare pick-guard. • Only real sign of age is some shrunk binding at shrinking at waist. See last pics. This is something any luthier can repair but it does not effect tone or playability. Super common due to Nitro-cellulose in the top clear coatings.
