Here is what I believe to be a one of a kind snare drum. A Tama maple artstar2 era snare in a crestar/granstar custom color! Heather metallic! What was surely a special ordered snare at some point in the late 80s, is in GREAT condition. The shell is stunning and the chrome is great all the way around. There are some tiny pin point specs here and there on the hardware, but it really is nearly mint. An easy 9/10. More like 9.5/10.
The edges are perfect, and that combined with the relatively thin maple shell create a snare with great warmth and sensitivity, as well as a great attack and body, aided as well by the meaty vintage tama die cast hoops! If you've been waiting for the right snare to match your old heather metallic crestar kit, or want something to offset your black or white artstar2 kit, AND want something that looks as good in a high end snare collection as it sounds....this is your drum!
