As seen many time in pianos built in the golden days of the USA piano manufacture! 1 family owned instrument , purchased new in 1936 SERIAL # 285687 No pet or smoke smell. Cabinet is beautiful Why pay $20k +at a dealer?? Technical report: Soundboard good condition (small hairline separation not affecting the sound visible). Hammers and action parts are good for another 50 yrs at this rate. Strings do not have rust. Tuning stability is good. Conclusion= Do not waste your time and $ rebuilding this piano with non original Steinway parts you most likely would end up with a piano not sounding or playing as good as this one in its present condition! We speak English, French and Spanish.
