1949 Steinway Model B Grand Piano Signed by Arthur Rubinstein Product Description ESW presents from a fine San Diego estate, this circa 1949 Steinway Model B grand piano with original ebonized black satin finish signed by maestro Arthur Rubinstein on the harp (shown). Measures 6' 10.5" long by 4' 10" wide. Good original condition. Finish is original. Sound board is solid and NOT cracked. Beautiful sound and action. There is some wear to the edges (shown). There is also a horizontal cosmetic shrinkage crack along the face of the case (shown). This does not affect the sound or action. This is an estate item and the auction format sale was ordered by the trustee.
The starting price is well below the appraised value. The appraised replacement value in 2010 was $81,200 (insurance replacement value). It was also recently appraised for reasonable fair market value in 2016 for $20,000. Opening bid is half of the reasonable fair market value and is offered with NO/RESERVE. Both appraisals are available upon request. Physical inspection is also available if you are local. We can also meet an independent piano inspector of your choice.
