If you are reviewing this listing, then you probably know the history of the George H. Way Drum Company (GHW) and how this company is the predecessor to Camco Drums and in turn, DW. The production period for these drums was very short, hence, they are quite rare and many drum enthusiasts simply have not yet heard of the company. What a sensational sounding drum! Players who use 6 lug snare drums know that the wider spacing between the lugs as compared to 8, 10 and 12 lug drums creates a very funky range of sounds based on stick placement. The most common adjective I've heard used regarding 6 lug drums is "FUN." I love them for snare drum focused tunes that call for second line patterns. They give you an additional buzz and ring that just seems to work for that style. To be clear though, this drum is absolutely suitable for all current playing applications. I've found this wonderful piece of history to be quite expressive. The drum works well in loud and soft settings. You can get a range of different kinds of sounds out of the drum and it's simply a pleasure to play. It's tunable across a wide range. All parts appear to be original and work well. Original strainer is intact and in place. Finish is immaculate. White painted interior with reinforcement rings. Please ask all questions before bidding. I've never had negative feedback and I find that comes from having great communication with my buyers.
