Description
Up for sale I have one gently used Brady Jarrah Ply, 6.5x14 inch snare drum in the stunning Blue Mallet gloss lacquer finish. The drum was made on 02/26/08 with serial number JP-1531. As you know, the Brady Drum Company has sadly gone out of business, and these are some very rare snare drums. The Blue Mallet finish is the grooviest finish I've ever seen on a drum - it is very hip. The drum is in very good - excellent condition. The only flaws I can see are 3 areas of small scratches on the bottom hoop (see photos). The chrome hoops and lugs are amazingly well chromed. I don't know how they do it in Australia, but the chrome on the hardware is the best I've ever seen. The bearing edges and finish are flawless. I have replaced the original Nickleworks strainer with a new Trick 007 strainer and butt plate - very smooth and reliable. The Trick strainer bolts directly where the original strainer was with no modifications. I will be including the original strainer also. The original Canopus leather tension rod washers where shot, and have been replaced with new Hendrix nylon sleeved washers (these things are great). I do not have the original heads or snare wires, but the Remo heads are fresh and the snare wires are exactly like original Brady wires. If you've never played a Brady snare, the new owner is in for a real treat. The Jarrah ply will be the cleanest sounding wooden snare drum you've ever played. It has the sensitivity of a metal drum, with much more warmth and a very rich tone. Their slogan is, "Nothing sounds like a Brady," and they are right.I've wound up with 2 of the these great drums and a Brady Hybrid Block snare drum to boot. So, this one needs to be released out into the drumming wide world again.I will be shipping this drum to the Lower 48 USA only by Fed Ex Ground. International shipping will be by eBay Global shipping program only. The drum will be shipped and carefully packed into a used SKB drum case for extra protection, then boxed and shipped. I want this drum to arrive safely - because you can't get these anymore. Don't stall and let this one slip away, you'll hate yourself for it!
