Up for sale, a 1964 Gibson B-25N in exceptional condition. Easily the cleanest B-25N we've ever had in the shop, this guitar is 100% original aside from a modern replacement tortoise pickguard. The successor of the LG-3 (and by association the same size but lesser priced LG-2), the B-25N features a slope shoulder 14 1/4" body with X braced construction and all solid woods. Short of purchasing a J-45 and heading into upscale dreadnought territory, the B-25N was the highest grade Gibson money could buy in '64, and the solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, and one-piece mahogany neck add up to a guitar that is very resonant, soulful, and easy to play. The tone is wooly and smooth, with focused bass response and plenty of top end cut. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this B-25N is strung with fresh 12-53 phosphor bronze strings and sounds great! The neck has a comfortable medium C profile, with a full 1 11/16" nut width only seen on the pre-1965 B-25 models. The Brazilian rosewood fretboard sports pearl dot inlays and the stock frets retain their full, original height.  As you'd expect, the frets are of the fairly wide/flat variety Gibson favored, and the frets currently show only light, uniform wear in the first position, with no notable wear up the neck and plenty of height and life left with well rounded crowns. On the headstock, the silkscreen "Gibson" logo is very clean and the original single line Kluson Deluxe tuning machines are intact with their original white buttons that still turn smoothly. On the body, the spruce top has consistent, tight grain, with the original plastic bridge base and adjustable saddle, which has plenty of height for future adjustment if desired. The bridge sits flush with the top, and the solid, X braced spruce top sits quite flat with virtually no pull behind the bridge. This B-25N is extremely clean and well kept cosmetically, with a 100% original nitro lacquer finish that shows no touchup or overspray of any kind. The original finish is glossy and in impeccable shape, with only a couple extremely light scratches on the bass side of the top, and a rich, unfaded shade of cherry on the back and sides. There is moderate lacquer checking across the entire body, and a few tiny dings on the back and on the top edges of the headstock. Otherwise, there's really no other wear to report, and it's incredible how well preserved this guitar is, given it's over 50 years old.The original faux alligator chipboard case is included. This case has its original handle and working latches. Some of the stitching is loose around the lid, but this case still otherwise works well and is a great, original tote for this B25N.
