Find me a cleaner Mosrite Ventures and I'll eat my hat (or your hat or maybe your lunch). This is mint but for one tiny spot on the back where it looks like it sat on a cord or strap. Mosrites don't generally age well-they check, they chip, they peel and the frets don't last. This early 66 (truss adjustment at the body end) Mosrite Ventures model still looks brand new. It is stunningly clean. The only issue with the guitar was the frets. This guitar sat in the case for around 50 years and the frets corroded, so I had it re-fretted with slightly larger wire. The original Mosrite frets aren't that great to begin with.Now it plays much better. But they are the coolest looking guitar ever made (I know, it's an upside down Strat, more or less). I've got too many guitars in my shop and I need to clear a few out at very good prices. Find another mint Mosrite for under $3000. The case is wrong-it appears to be a Mosrite bass case. It does't fit perfectly but it'll do. |
