Vintage 79-80 Slingerland, Niles black and silver badge drum set. Features 14x 22 10 lug bass drum, 8x 12 and 9x13 rise toms with set-o-matic double tom mount. 15 x 12 floor tom( converted snare) and 16x16 floor tom. Toms are mid '79 and bass drum is late '80. The 15x12 was a marching snare from '72. • Drums are a mix of two types of shell that were still being built at the same time . Slingerland sometime mixed drums when they needed certain sizes cause they didn't make as many drums as Ludwig..ever. 3 ply maple, poplar, maple with maple rerings. 5 ply m,p,m,p,m with no rings. Original black gloss wrap on all drums but the 15. Slight blemishes ,as you would expect with bass drum showing most but still light in nature. All hardware is original and authentic . Tom mount is very solid for such a light mount. Like many, I had heard bad stories about set-o-matic but it's better than you think! Let's drums ring nicely with solid feel. Doesn't need over tightening at all. No rust, no extra holes. Floor tom has 2 small holes from missing muffler. No mufflers on any other drums. All bearing edges were recut by Precision Drum Co of NY., except bass drum which has original edges. Bass drum , 9 x13 and 15x12 are 3 ply with rings. 8x12 and 16 x16 are the 5 ply shells with no rings. All new top quality heads except original Slingerland head on bottom of the 9 and no name head on bottom if 15. Sounds tremendous . You can tune to tones easily. Big rock sound when you want it with lots of character. I'll include a single set-o-matic mount also so you can use 1 rise tom if you choose . Very easy set to play and set up..so comfortable.
