This is a 1948 Gibson LG-1 Serial no 2125 14 It is stamped inside the body at the inside of the neck joint. This guitar had a small neck crack near the headstock that has been professionally repaired by Gary Brauer Instrument repair in San Francisco. It was not a deep crack, but I wanted to get it stabilized to make sure that this guitar will continue to play and sound great. There are lots of dings and scratches on the body of this guitar and the pickguard is half gone as can be seen in the pictures. It has a great tone, it is full and a little dark compared to something more modern. I used to own a recording studio and this was one of the favorite acoustics to record with. It plays really great and is really easy to get around the fretboard. Frets are original and in very good condition. There is no notable buzzing on the frets. This does not have a case, the original case was basically cardboard and disintegrated years ago. |
