1954 Fender Tweed Deluxe 5C3 in exceptional condition and full working order. Original transformers, original Jensen P12R with original cone (sounds incredible), all original electrics except standard changes detailed below. The handle is a handcrafted replacement, the original is included. The tube chart dates production to March 1954. Speaker dates to 42nd week of 1953. Serial number 1774 written on the tube chart and stamped to chassis. Rare transition model when Fender moved from octal preamp tubes to miniature types, shown on hand written factory changed tube chart. Full set of vintage RCA tubes including hard to find 12AY7. Power lead updated to three prong grounded cord, “death cap” removed. Filter caps replaced with Kendricks slotted inside the old covers. Bypass caps replaced with Sprague Atoms. That’s it, everything else is bone stock and working perfectly. All the changed out components are included. Sounds absolutely incredible. Cleans are rich and full, responds with the most glorious overdrive you’re ever likely to encounter when you push it. It’s extremely quiet for a vintage amp, wonderful for recording and rehearsal. Miked up there’s no reason you wouldn’t use it live as well. To find one with the original Jensen still intact is near impossible and they’re worth serious $ in their own right.
