The Ibach Model F 1 was first released in 1913 as the Model O dwarf grand piano. This piano revolutionised piano making as up until this point makers had been unable to make a small grand piano with decent sound quality due to the limitations of string length and soundboard size. All small pianos up to this point in history had very poor sounding bass registers. Rud Ibach overcame this by designing the double cross strung bass section. This design sees the monochord deep bass section cross over the top of the bichord upper bass section. This bichord section in turn crosses over the strings in the middle register. This design created a structure that applied uniform pressure on the bridges across the full spectrum of the piano, allowing more resonance from the soundboard, and the ability to utilise bass strings that are far longer than all other makes in the size range giving the Ibach F 1 deep a sonorous tones and rich volume normally associated with far bigger and grander sounding pianos. The action in Ibach is a modern roller style action with a double repetition return spring with spring adjusting screw. This is the style of action found in Bosendorfer, Bechstein, and post 1930 Bluthner pianos. This type of action delivers very accurate touch and repetition, without the bounce found in actions fitted with the split style repetition spring (Steinway, Yamaha as examples.)The Ibach Model F 1 was made in Black, Mahogany, Rosewood, and Burl Walnut. This particular Ibach is presented in high gloss Rosewood. The Ibach Model F 1 is a very special piano, in all regards it is as high a standard as can be expected from a leader in the piano making world. As a musical instrument it delivers the finest sound available, and as a furniture piece it will certainly be the centre piece of any location. Come in and play this beautiful Ibach or many of the other pianos is our large range of grand pianos. Bring music, we'll make you tea - take your time and enjoy playing your music. | |
