What makes this guitar special: A tastefully modded, true vintage beauty with classic good looks & superb tone. The original single coil pickups were replaced with Seymour Duncan Melody Maker Humbuckers, which sound absolutely amazing in this guitar, providing higher gain with more attack.  However, the original pickups are included with the guitar.
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear.  Overall the guitar has a great, well-played look to it with a gorgeous patina.Neck: Wide, semi-chunky, one-piece mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets are in good shape with some light play wear & tons of life in them.  Original Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is functioning.Body: Double-cutaway, solid, one-piece mahogany body in sunburst finish. Compensated, wrap-around nickel bridge. Single-ply, black plexi pickguard with white Melody Maker logo in good condition. The guard shows various scratches & pick wear, but no cracks or breaks. There's a rectangular "ghosting" image on the guard from a previous decal.  Guitar weighs 5 lbs 12.8 oz.Pickups:  Currently fitted with Seymour Duncan Melody Maker Humbuckers, but originals are included.  No routs were required for the replacement pickups & the originals can easily be put back, but the Duncans sound so awesome we decided to leave them in.  Dual volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs. Pots date to '64 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
