This is an undeniably impressive Matsumoku-made copy of a Gibson ES-175 from the mid 1970s.  It is similiar to the Greco FA-80 or the Ibanez 2335, but more modestly priced! The obvious reverence for the Gibson model is evident throughout the build. Like the original, the all-laminate construction was designed and intended to prevent feedback. The 20-fret neck features a particularly handsome rosewood fretboard with parallelogram inlays. The measurement at the nut is 44 mm (1.75 inches), which is the same as a vintage Gibson. The neck profile is a soft C and the radius is 12 inches. The body depth is 3 inches, and there is a sound post under the bridge to further aid in feedback prevention. Also featured are Gibson-style witch-hat knobs with dial pointers.
The guitar is 100% original and the condition is outstanding, with light wear overall but very, very few significant dings or scratches. The neck is smooth and unblemished and the sweep of the tone and volume knobs is noise-free and very wide. There are stress cracks to the finish around the neck join, which is completely typical and unremarkable. The join itself is solid. There is some very modest fret wear to the first three or four frets, but no attention is required.  Every note plays cleanly all the way up the neck. The guitar delivers a hugely satisfying amount of sustain and depth of tone. It’s a real treat to play and an ideal, modestly-priced way to add a jazz box to your arsenal or to have as a back-up. It is also beyond ideal as a platform for upgrades.Comes with its original chipboard case.
