Martin Marquis Collection 000-28K Authentic 1921 Acoustic Guitar
Estimated price for orientation: 8 368 $
Category: Martin
Class:
Description Product Description This 000-28K is a meticulously precise recreation of its 1921 counterpart. The top, back and sides are made from highly figured Hawaiian koa, some of the best looking and most smooth-toned wood on the planet. What's under the top of this guitar is just as vital to the sound as all that pretty wood on the outside. Standard "X" authentic-style scalloped bracing allows the top to vibrate more freely than usual, and Martin has gone a step further by treating the braces with their VTS system. In short, this is a heating process that makes the wood think it's some 100 years old, but without sacrificing stability. I'm guessing this is where some of that woody "snap" in the highs and lows comes from. The neck joint is a classic dovetail style joined with hide glue, just like the old school 000-28K models. The hand-shaped neck is a nice hunk of solid genuine mahogany, and it's an authentic 1921 "Barrel and Heel" shape. At 1 7/8", the nut width is on the wider side. If you're a fingerpicker, you're going to love it. Solid black ebony on the fingerboard and bridge provides a nice contrast to all of koa's flair. Other authentic 1921 specs include a solid Madagascar rosewood headplate, style 28 rosette and style 28 zig zag back purfling. This guitar is special. It's perfect for the Martin aficionado or anyone looking for one of the best sounding, most dialed in acoustic guitars you can get your hands on.
