A very rare and highly collectable saxophone, this is the famous 'Grafton' , designed by the Italian Hector Sommaruga, made in London and dating from the 1950's. These were only produced for about ten years in the 1950's, and due to their delicate nature, are extremely hard to come by, especially in good condition. Now we don't know a great deal about saxophones, apart from some recently gained wiki knowledge about this particular model, seen here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grafton_saxophone , however as far as we can tell, this seems to be in excellent condition. All the parts seem to be there, moving well, and crucially, there are no breaks or cracks to the acrylic plastic anywhere to be seen. There is some superficial surface wear to the metal keys, which I'm sure can be cleaned up and restored with no problems. The felt beneath the keys all seems to be in very good condition too. This comes packaged in a very old case, not sure if it's original, but the sax fits perfectly. The mouthpiece is intact, and this comes with lots of spare reeds, some lubricant, a strap, and several other accessories, of which the use is unknown to us! This is a fantastic collectors item, and something that we are not likely to come across again. Height approx 60 cm Condition We endeavour to photograph and show every feature, providing as detailed and accurate a description as possible. Please read the descriptions and study the images carefully. We cannot guarantee that every single flaw will be mentioned, though we do our best. Remember these are old pieces, and my opinion of very good condition may still mean there is some slight wear. These are all used, vintage pieces, so please be reasonable.
