This is a rare example of a vintage Gibson "The Gibson A-2" mandolin with an original hard shell case & paperwork(see pics)! Hand built in Kalamazoo, Mi. U.S.A., circa 1920's! Sounds & looks beautiful! The serial number is written in pencil & appears to read: #69650, which I "believe" makes it a 1922 model, during the favorable "Lloyd Loar period"(But, please see pics & do your own research)?! This mandoiln is the more modern version of the vintage A-2 series, which includes an adjustable bridge & neck adjusting truss rod. For an instrument almost a century old, it shows VERY minimal signs wear & "may" have been professionally refinished (I've highlighted what I believe to be the worst area of finish wear in pic, near sound hole). It will need new strings, one string is broken. I've reduced the price to my absolute "ROCK BOTTOM" & this is the last time I plan to list this mandolin! So, ask any questions & review pics thoroughly before bidding because, will be sold AS-IS! Buyer pays for any additionally requested professional pkg. & additional elected insurance! Shipping to the lower 48 states USA ONLY!!
