Description

For sale is a fantastic vintage amplifier from Gibson. This is the legendary Gibson GA-40 "Les Paul" combo amplifier. These amplifiers have built a reputation as absolute tone monsters, with maybe 14 to 16 watts of output (but pushing volumes high above what it's output rating would suggest), this amplifier goes from warm and deep clean tones to absolutely scorching overdrive. This honestly might be the golden standard of natural amp overdrive, and we've never heard a sweeter tone coming from just a pushed amplifier. Cosmetically this amp is a little worse for the wear, having had the baffle cut in both upper corners, the sides of the amplifier also cut both seemingly for the addition of extra speakers or tweeters. There is wear and tear on the tolex across the entire amp, the faceplate has scratches as well. It looks as if one capacitor has been changed, but other than that seemingly all original inside. This amp is certainly not a collectors item, but in its condition it's a perfect players amplifier and has truly unparalleled tone that only can be achieved with such a magical item such as this.
