2010 Fender Japan MG-69 Mustang (Sunburst)with a new Tweed Hard Case    £599.00 JAPAN IMPORT "Hard to find" 1969 Reissue Import from Fender Japan finished in 3 colour sunburst Here at Whitstable Guitars, I have an arrangement with a major Japanese supplier & I regularly import batches of used but excellent condition guitars from Japan. I do this because the quality of the guitars is excellent & the guitars supplied for their domestic market are often in different finishes & specifications than are available in Europe. This Mustang from Japan is unavailable here in Sunburst & once again, I'm delighted with it. Other than a couple of minor indentations on the body, the guitar is in beautiful condition. You can buy a Mustang in Olympic white, Competition Red or Blue but Sunburst models only seem to be available as imports. The guitar comes with a new tweed hard case. If you are able to collect and don't want the case, £39 can be deducted from the price. I sometimes have used, rectangular cases which I can sell you a bit cheaper should you want to save a few quid, however, I won't ship without a hard case. Just ask before you buyProduct specificationsFender Japan electric guitarModel: Mustang MG69Year "U" Serial number indicating 2010-2011Colour: 3 colour sunburstBody material: Basswood (linden)Finish: high-gloss polyesterShape: MustangNeck connection: bolt-onMaterial: MapleFinish: high-gloss polyesterProfile: CScale length: 24" (310 mm)Fretboard: rosewoodFretboard radius: 7.25" (184.1 mm)Number of frets: 21Fret type: vintage styleString nut material: synthetic bonestring nut width: 1.578" (40 mm)Position markers: white dotsHardwearBridge: Floating BridgeTailpiece: Dynamic Vibrato TailpieceHardware finish: chrome-platedTuners: vintage-style sealed self-lubricatingPickguard: 3-ply white pearlElectronicsBridge pickup: Single-Coil Mustang|Neck pickup: Single-Coil MustangControls: 1 x master volume, 1x master tone, 2 x Slider switches It's hard to price up a guitar imported from Japan. Obviously they are cheaper but £100 shipping and then around 30% in import duties & fees really push the price up. You can buy a Fender Japan Mustang in the UK but I can only find the "competition series" which have the racing stripe & plain white pickguard. They are available on line without a case or gigbag for around £700  This shows the condition of the front of the guitar which is perfect with a high gloss shine. the guitar plays beautifully and the frets have no wear at all  The chrome is perfect and the bridge plate is stamped with "DYNAMIC Fender VIBRATO"  Here's the headstock which has a lovely aged look. Kluson style tuners. Everything perfect  The back is the same. Note that the bridge is top loading on Mustangs. Also, if you didn't know, the Mustang has a 24" scale length, not 25.5" that you find on Strats & Teles. This makes string bending easier and the guitar is real fun to play Any marks you see are reflections.   The machine heads on this guitar are Fender Kluson style with chrome buttons, they work well and it stays in tune From around 2000, Japanese Fenders had "Crafted in Japan" instead of "Made in Japan" but this has changed back to the more traditional "Made in Japan" now. U series denotes 2010-2011. In view of the condition, I have estimated 2010  This photo shows the only marks I could find on the guitar. There are a couple of minor indentations on the back, likely to have been caused by a belt buckle   So, to sum up, a new one of these from Thomann, guitar guitar or GAK  costs around £700 without even a gig bag so, for £100 less plus a hard case I think this is a pretty good deal. Whitstable Guitars has been operating as an online shop specialising in Japanese & North American guitars since 2008. Easy to find online, all my guitars are supplied with new strings, set up & always in a hard case. SHIPPINGThe shipping price applies to mainland UK. Should you be lucky enough to live in the Highlands, Northern Ireland or on one of our beautiful islands, shipping costs may be slightly higher. Please email me first for a quote & I'll always try to keep the cost as low as possibleThanks for looking. Rob
