MP2A Description The MP 2A is a combined mic preamp/DI, based on a classic TUBE-TECH design, but featuring even higher fidelity and a few new features: An impedance switch to match the input perfectly to all types of microphones, an overload indicator and 2 dB gain stepsMP2A is the second in the new range of upgraded microphone preamplifier/DI's.( The modular PM1A was the first.)These new preamps features even higher headroom and fidelity than the earlier TUBE-TECH micpre''s. Serious listening tests of the MP 2A have revealed a sound quality second to none, placing it among a handful of the worlds very best designs. The MP 2A DI continues the TUBE-TECH tradition of extremely good sounding DI's, delivering world class sound for bass and guitar DI recordings. You simply won’t find a better DI than this! Selected User Statements MP2A and PM1AGarry Boyle, Castlesound UK: "I absolutely love the TUBE-TECH MP 2A! What a stunning mic amp. Used it on a record for vocal and double bass and then did all my overdubs on it and couldn't have
asked for any more from it.
As big and beautiful as any of the N**** mic amps (but with less noise) in the studio." Wolfgang Stach, Germany, Producer and owner of Maarweg Studio 2, Cologne, Germany:“I used the new Tube-Tech MP 2A in my current production of the German band Jupiter Jones and I am delighted: This new preamp has a charming but also very classy character which works excellent on various instruments I used it with. Really great (or “really cool”)!” Bassel El Hallak, Germany, Producer, Songwriter, Musician,Session Guitar Player, Hamburg , Germany:"The PM1A for me is probably the best Preamp I ever recorded with. Vocals instantly fall into place and sound just right. Same thing with guitars! It gives me the rich and fat sound I am looking for." Statements about PM 1A: ( Exactly same sound as MP2A ) Markus Born, Germany, engineer for top German acts like Xavier Naidoo, Söhne Mannheims, Laith al Deen:"The TUBE-TECH PM1A takes the philosophy of the TUBE-TECH preamps one step further in plasticity, openness and presence. The impedance switch lets you tailor the PM perfectly to every type of microphone, and both dynamic and ribbons sound sensationally well. Sources recorded with the PM 1A work very well in the mix and really shine due to a very rich harmonic spectrum." John Garrison, singer/songwriter, touring bass player with James Blunt, session musician for One Direction, Christina Agullera, Robbie Williams. John has for some time worked on his own project, Satellites under the artist name Johnny Vic and has released two albums by now:"It just sounds better. My tracks sounds more like a record than with all the other preamps I have used. If you have a musical idea and good instruments, the recording sounds fantastic straight away, and then you can focus on being creative." Gabriel Roth US, Producer, engineer, bass player, band leader, songwriter. Co owner Daptone Studios, Daptone Records.
Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings,Amie Winehouse, Antibalas, Michael Bublé, Charles Bradley, Naomi Shelton & the Gospel Queens, Menahan Street Band, Neal Sugarman, The James Hunter Six:"I was blown away by how powerful and quiet the PM1A preamps were.
This preamp seems to have a lot of headroom, a lot of gain. They just sound great, man." Sean Genockey, UK, Producer, Mixer, guitar player, owner of Black Dog Studios.
IKO, Baddies, Tom McRae, Reuben, Manic Street Preachers, Suede,Tom Mc Ray:"The TUBE-TECH's were awesome, I used them for drum recording at Rockfield.
