This is a used Yamaha trb 1005 made in Korea. Bass is in excellent condition along with excellent cosmetics. There is a small chip in the headstock edge and on the bottom side of the body. Also has light swirling in several areas- nothing significant that the camera could capture. The frets and fretboard were recently polished and cleaned. No sharp frets. Action is low and buttery. Truss rod is in working order and very responsive- currently I have no buzz to report. The electronics are all original. The pickups are alnico single coils even though the pickups are humbucker size. The preamp is active only- no passive option. With eq flat bass sounds similar to a jazz bass to my ears. Heavily favoring either pickup or all the way will produce single coil hum noise. Slightly favoring any pickup is relatively quiet. Overall the sound of this instrument is robust- somewhere between a musicman and a Warwick- every note sounds full and vibrant. Bass is very responsive to the touch- when you play soft it sounds subtle, when you play aggressively it roars- beast sound! The input jack is a little loose when you plug in a cable. I will include a new jack that you can have installed. As is the jack works fine but if you step on your cable it will come out. I usually loop my cable through the strap with all my instruments so this hasn't been a real issue and I would advise using it this way whether you decide to replace the jack or not. I upgraded the hardware recently replacing all of the ugly original cosmo black hardware. It's ugly because it tarnishes easily as is the case with the original hardware on this bass. Upgrades include: hipshot A style brass bridge in black with .750" spacing, hipshot ultralight tuners in black, Dunlop black strap lock pins, generic brand black knobs with white pointers. Currently strung with a new set of DR white neon coated strings. All original tuners, knobs, bridge, screws, and strap pins will be included. The cost of shipping is an estimate based on previous sales of other basses fairly recent. If the shipping cost is less I will gladly refund the difference. If the shipping cost is higher I will absorb the additional cost. Shipping cost is the actual shipping cost, packing material, a box, and insurance.
