This significant departure in back design allowed for a more efficient yield of Brazilian rosewood that was becoming scarcer and more costly at that time. With additional black and white inlay lines and a bound fingerboard, the D-35 provided a nice complement and slight appointment upgrade to Martin's flagship D-28. Prized for its uniquely deep and powerful bass response, the D-35 has proven ideal for vocal accompaniment. To celebrate this milestone in Martin Guitar history, we will be releasing a series of D-35 Limited Edition models with commemorative 50th Anniversary interior labels and 50th Anniversary booklets included with every stock model D-35 initiated during 2015.
