I'm selling my 1954 Gibson J-160E after a little under three years of ownership because outside of one Mayer leg (where it was one of 10 guitars that I had in my trunk) I haven't used it much at all! If I'm not using a guitar, I tend to try to find a home for it where it's played/loved/appreciated...I also have my own Hofner signature guitar coming out at the end of this year and that bad boy (The Zane Carney Hofner Jazzica) does a lot of what this guitar does already, so I'd imagine I'll be playing this J-160E even less...If you're looking to buy this, guitar, you're most likely a collector and either want it because of the Beatles connection (these were the Beatles' backup guitars on the road and John Lennon really loved this guitar) or because you just dig vintage instruments in general. I suppose a die-hard Mayer fan might also be excited about the fact that this was brought on tour by his lead/rhythm guitarist (that would be me...) and perhaps an even MORE die-hard guitar fan might for some bizarre reason like the fact that I played this guitar for a couple of years...
