Eminence 4 string, removable neck bass. The bass and its accessories are all original stock, and complete, with the exception of the Realist pickup that I replaced in July with a new one of the same. Included are: - the original soft cases, one for the body and bass when it’s assembled, and one for the neck when traveling - the hard shelled, plastic golf bag case - belly poker - a Realist pickup that I bought from Gary in July. All are original and in very good, but NOT new, condition. The soft bag has a hole in the bottom where the endpin rubs, which I’ve patched with duct tape, and the bass has 5 small spots on the back where the finish has come off. 4 of those spots are where the stand handles supported the bass in the store and when we pulled it off the stand, some of the finish came off – see the pics below. The other spot is up by the button, I never noticed it until now and don’t know how it got there – again see the pic. Otherwise, the bass barely has a scratch on it. The endpin rod has some rust but nothing serious. Oh, and I’ve used a black Sharpie to mark the top where the bridge feet go and labeled the bridge for which side goes towards the neck – both really helpful to me when I’m assembling it after a long flight. See pics. It is VERY durable and reliable. I’ve had it about 5 years, bought it new from a local luthier and have gigged with it a bit and traveled with it 30 or 40 times. I’ve never had any issues with air travel and have never been charged overage fees, but I’m sure that that depends on the airline and the specific circumstances, so you may have a different experience. I have preferred status on United Airlines if that helps. The bass is currently strung with Evah Parazzi Weich strings, which, when combined with the copper Realist pickup and fairly high action >6mm at the G octave, sounds similar to my amplified upright. The scale is a bit longer than typical, maybe a half-inch, but I find that I need little adjustment when going between the Eminence and my URB. Local pickup in Los Angeles. Shipping between Louisville, KY and LA cost $180 via UPS Ground recently, so that gives you an idea of shipping costs. Otherwise, shipping is easy in its hard shelled golf bag case. |
