I have for sale a nice old 1954 Martin D-18, serial # 1372?? acoustic guitar. This guitar has scarcely any issues to describe. It has some minor evidence of play wear on the top, the same, only minor evidence of rash or play wear on the back and sides. Finish is excellent and 100% original with no touch up anywhere and not worn off the back of the neck as is usual. There are no cracks and no crack repairs on the sides (as is purty common) or back and only evidence of a small crack appearing at the bottom edge of the pick guard but no cleat or repair necessary at this time. Everything with the exception of the bridge pins, strap button, and strings appear to be completely original. Inside of the guitar is clean as a whistle with no molestation or repairs of any kind. Bridge with no sanding, bridge plate, Pick guard, tuners are all original. Fingerboard is original with no sanding. The first 4 frets appear to have been professionally replaced and I believe the guitar has had a pro neck reset at some point. There is very little play wear on the frets and fingerboard only in the first 4 positions as noted by picture. Action is perfect for me at 5/32" 12th fret to bottom of E 6th string. The small Rosewood triangular shape neck heel cap has been cracked and repaired as noted in the picture of the back. Note, it is only the 1/32' heel cap, not the neck heel. It is my guess the cap was broken when the neck set was done as sometimes happens. Lastly the guitar plays and sounds great, as it should. Nice clear tones across the spectrum and projects very well. It comes with a non original newer hard case. I have described all I can think of as accurately as possible. If you have questions about anything, you are certainly welcome to call me at 314 422 5129 and I will answer full and to the best of my ability. I have been collecting, buying, selling since 1967. Please examine pictures and description closely and let yourself be at ease about the guitar. It is a better than average example of this great era. Please add 3% if pay pal is used.
