1959 Danelectro Standard Model 3021 Shorthorn Black Vintage Guitar DC2 w/ohsc
Estimated price for orientation: 1 099 $
Category: Electric Guitar
Class:
Description Brand: Danelectro Body Type: Semi-Hollow Model: Standard Model 3021 MPN: Does Not Apply Dexterity: Right-Handed Exact Year: 1959 String Configuration: 6 String Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
You're looking at a late 1950s Danelectro 3021 Standard two pickup shorthorn model. It's close to the double cutaway "Jimmy Page" model but is the earlier version with the blob or "amoeba" shaped smaller pickguard.
It plays and sounds great. It has the original gray trapeziod case with the red interior. Here's the important bit: The body was painted white at some point in the past. Our shop restored this guitar for a customer about ten years ago. We refinished the body and aged it to match the wear on the neck. We were able to save the original body binding tape when we did the job. One set of knobs is original and the other is as close as we could craft to look the same. The pickguard is a reproduction from the correct white faced Masonite type material. You wouldn't know unless we told you. The strap buttons may not be original. Other than that, all the hardware, electronics, and pickups are original. The frets have had a level, crown, and polish. It is strung up with D'Addario 9.5s.This is a good opportunity to purchase a "player" Danelectro at a lower price than you'd pay for an all original example. This one looks great, feels great, and delivers that cool sound that only old Neptune made Danelectros can!
Ask questions if you'd like. A lot of effort and love went into bringing this guitar back and now, a decade later we are happy to offer it for sale.
