1957 Gibson Country Western SJ Guitar
Estimated price for orientation: 1 252 $
Category: Acoustic Guitars
Class:
Description Brand: Gibson Country/Region of Manufacture: United States Model: Country Western/Southern Jumbo Exact Year: 1957 Body Type: Dreadnought
Here’s your chance to buy a vintage Gibson that you don’t have to baby. Pretty much anything that can happen to a guitar has already happened to it. It plays and sounds great with mojo to spare. The neck and headstock are in good solid condition. I just had a new fret job done and it is set up great. I’m getting a ’43 Banner from a friend and won’t be needing this one anymore. Sometime, in days long ago, somebody thought it would be swell if it was a sunburst, so they took a bit of stain, or for all I know shoe polish, and made themselves a real nice sunburst. The original finish remains under the stain on the top but I believe that the back and sides have been refinished. There is a plug filled hole where a pick-up jack had once been installed. There are several glued cracks in the guitar and some that could probably still be worked on. No buzzes or rattles though. The binding on the upper part of the fingerboard has been worn away on both sides, more wear on the treble strings side. But she is a dandy playing and sounding instrument. 1957 U series FON I am selling with no reserve. I will ship via your preferred method of shipping and will charge only the actual shipping and insurance fees. I had to put an amount in the shipping so I'm putting $75 but we'll either refund the difference if it's less, or if you prefer a higher priced shipping method, the charge will be your actual cost. No returns unless “not as described.” Being sold “AS IS”, so please ask questions before bidding. Get it while you can!

On Oct-31-16 at 14:22:39 PDT, seller added the following information:I just noticed that one of the photos shows that the endpin is metal. It is actually a nice, slightly oversized endpin that I replaced the other one with. The other one had been an endpin jack for a pick-up that I once had in the guitar. I had it removed after I took the photos. If someone would like to install a pick-up, the endpin hole is the correct size for an endpin jack. Sorry for any confusion regarding the photo.
