This guitar is definitely a looker, and a piece of history! The Peavey T-40 was one of the brand's first bass designs ever, and popular for its affordability and construction. Although the T-40 is heavy, it's built like a tank and can consequently take a beating. Peavey T-40 bass guitars were the first of their kind to be made using a CNC machine with a bilaminated and pre-stressed neck. These guitars were a great success back in the day due to founder Hartley Peavey's marketing mentality of "quality products for working musicians at great prices." And weighing in at around 12lbs, these were solid basses and you could feel the quality and value when you picked one up. This guitar sports two humbucking pickups with blade pole pieces that utilize a unique dual/single coil circuit allowing humbucking or single coil operation of either or both pickups through rotaton of the tone controls. The volume controls are frequency compensated to retain high end at low volume level and switching between or combining pickups is accomplished with a three position toggle switch. Further tone variations can be obtained via the two position phase switch. Serial number dating shows this guitar was produced in 1982 and made in the USA. Comes with a hardshell case. The case has some damage to it. We have taken detailed photos, please review them before purchasing. At The Music Farm, we take quality seriously! That is why we have our in-house technicians do a multi-point inspection on each product, ensuring that it'll be ready to play when it hits your hands! Included in your shipment will be instructions on care and maintenance. We want to help you Grow Your Passion® The Music Farm is an Authorized Peavey Dealer.
