As expert collectors of everything "ESP" we can confirm this is authentic ESP manufacturing as well as ESP paint and factory artwork!This is an official Electric Sound Products ( ESP ) guitar and was made at the ESP Japan factory. There are NO modifications of any kind to this guitar. It is what is considered a "Production Model". This means it was an official model released by The Electric Sound Products guitar company for distribution. Touted by ESP in advertising as an "exact version". • Historically Accurate Version of the Original • Accurate Body Shape • Consistent with historical documentation • Accurate Stripes • Consistent with historical documentation
• Accurate Pickguard which is original to the body • labeled volume knob - pickguard control holes
• Artwork is obvious hand applied - thick factory clear coat over the artwork
• Obvious ESP Factory Paint and finish work
• Just as the Original Frankenstrat - No brand logo on the front of the headstock
• Accurate tremolo with the known type of metal saddles
• Accurate Wood Type • ASH Wood • Pickup is Mounted directly to wood and at the perfect height to the strings

As well a red and white striped 5150 ESP frankenstrat was known to be produced and manufactured by ESP Japan and released. These facts are known by ESP collectors and there is information in the public domain to verify these facts.The story on this version ( black and white striped ) is that it is the more collectible of the ESP Frankenstrat Replicas. This has to do with very few of these ever being seen and the fact that this ESP guitar has the Fender CBS big headstock which add to the value. The Early 1990s would make this the first Frankenstrat production guitar ever made by any big name guitar brand.These guitars were manufactured in unknown numbers with some speculation that less than 500 total of all early 1990s Eddie Van Halen replicas were manufactured by ESP in Japan. Initially it was believed that all these ESP Van Halen Replicas were sold only at the Ishibashi Music Store in Japan. That was later de-bunked. More guitars were distributed worldwide from this ESP replica project.Additional information surfaced in the 2000s with the discovery of Japanes guitar magazines/publications that these guitars were touted as "exacting replicas" of Eddie Van Halens working/touring guitars.In addition rumors amongst collectors has surfaced stating that ESP utilized, for this replica project, actual guitar technician that worked for the VH tour crew to participate in the development of these guitars.
