Neck Plate Serial Number estimate about 1971 - I bought this about 15 years ago on eBay from someone in Nashville.  It was routed for an original Fender Humbucker at some point and refinished before I acquired it.  According to that seller the original neck logo was stripped during the refinish and another logo was applied - the original tuners were replaced and they are pictured and in the case as is the the old three-way switch.  The seller said they could not verify that any of the parts were original, but that it played great.  It does play and sound great - recently professionally set-up.  There is no writing on the neck where it attaches to the body.  The neck skunk stripe, the string clips, the back string holes, the plate serial number all indicate 1971  - check     "guitarhq.com/fender.html"  - but I bought this off eBay and there is no proof!  Too bad - it would be worth more!  I am really a saxophone player and I have been playing Danelectro guitars lately since they are so light - this is solid wood!
