Less than 500 of these made back in the day, and only made for less than 2 years by Guild...........just what you need if you are doing a 1980's tribute band gig. Based on the limited amount of research I did, the serial number on this one indicates it was made Winter of 84 - 85, so either late 1984 or early 1985.  Really fun guitar, plays like a dream, all electronics have been professionally gone thru and cleaned. Fret-board and frets shows virtually zero wear and if freshly oiled and frets polished. Original tuners work fine and the pointed headstock is not "stage damaged" like some that were used for live shows on tight stages getting rammed into a wall, drum or cymbal stand, speaker column, Korg Poly-Six, or those awkward lead singers & bass players wearing too much hair spray.  Neck is incredibly fast and a joy to play. Guitar is remarkably well-balanced and comfortable when you are standing and using a strap. Single EMG pickup sounds great...........no tone control, just flat-out "attitude"! The purple and pink ones hold a collector's value of $1,500 to $2,000 or more. This one is white and the body (not the neck) has been refinished by an amateur, so it probably isn't a museum quality guitar as it sits. But it's a GREAT "player" and looks fine from a few feet away. Looks like a previous owner added a string tree (behind the locking nut), which required the truss rod cover to be slightly re-positioned and is held down by a single screw. Back control cover has a small piece missing (see pics). Comes with it's original Guild fitted case (which are practically impossible to find now-a-days). This case has some damage on one end, some stickers on the lid, and the latches are stiff. But the hinges and latches all still work good. (No case key included.) Case smells a little musty but not terrible........just what you'd expect from a guitar that sat in someone's attic or basement for the last 10 to 20 years.
Price is $995.00 plus $79.95 shipping to any location in the continental USA, lower 48 states.  (Due to the size of the guitar, the case is larger than a conventional case, and is heavier too, thus the higher shipping cost.)  Any where else and you should either trust the eBay international shipping calculator or contact me for a shipping estimate. Market value for these X-88's will only go up!  Thanks for your interest.............and may God bless!
