R. Gillanders blackwood bagpipes, made between 1959 and 1971. Wonderful condition for their age. The finish and catalin mounts are in great shape. Small under-ferrule hairline cracks were correctly repaired in the tenor and blowpipe stocks. Drones and the original chanter (R. Gillanders Forfar) are straight and have the full, broad sound that comes from the family who created choice bagpipes for the Center, Thow, and MacDougall shops during the early 20th century.
