There is a bit of a story to this.. I used to distribute Godin guitars and this was one of our displays. The guitar is 'new' in as much as no one there than me has owned it and it has never been played for any length of time. It was on display in the early 2000's for a short while and has gathered a couple of small marks as shown in the picture and then been instorage for years.I have cleaned the guitar and taken the dust of the bag and it is a very fine instrument and a good example of the quality of the Godin manufacture. When I got the guitar I bought some sets of strings too and put a new set on for this sale, there are some tarnish marks on 3 of the strings if you look hard and there is a second set included in a similar condition.I added a battery to check the preamplifier and everything works, the EQ, volume and there is no adverse feel on any of the strings. This is a really well balanced quality instrument. This is too esoteric for me to say I could get a tune but the tone is spot on, a very interesting sound. These retail for just under £1000 but I need to find a new home for it.I would suggest a prospective purchaser view and play before commiting unless they have seen or played one before.I live near Shipley and work in Yeadon, Leeds and can arrange an audition, initially email me through eBay.I have set the buy it now price at a level which I believe reflects its value, we can always talk about it when you come to view. The second picture is a stock image, the colour is much richer although my pictures do no do it justice. Here are some You tube links:-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-1oq6XXxg0And particularly:-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJdN7DputWMthe man himself..And:-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j09RCjK1gc4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFQaiiDm2Nc

A11 - Glissentar
In a nutshell, it's an eleven string, fretless, acoustic/electric instrument, strung with nylon strings and tuned to standard guitar tuning. More than ever before, musicians are mixing sounds and musical styles from all over the world. This often involves the mixing of Eastern and Western music, such as using a Sitar in a western musical setting or using western instruments to imitate the sounds in eastern music. The Glissentar was inspired by a similar desire to mix elements of East and West, but in this case, in the instrument itself. The Western part of the equation is easy to recognize as a variation on the guitar. All of the instruments basic dimensions, scale length, body size, depth, fingerboard radius, and string height, are fairly standard for acoustic/electric guitars. The Eastern influence in the Glissentar comes from the Oud, an ancestor of the Mandolin that dates back to the seventh century. The Oud is also an eleven-string fretless instrument and is still in use today primarily in Armenia and Egypt. Adapting to this new instrument is actually a great deal easier than it appears. The shape and scale of the neck and the easily visible side position markers help to give the Glissentar a very familiar feel. The Glissentar opens the door to microtonal playing as well as some incredible and unique new sounds for adventurous guitar players.
