I purchased this new just over a year ago because I really missed owning a Strat. It started life as a Fender Deluxe IOS HSS Strat. Over the months, I slowly built it into what was, in my mind, the ultimate gigging, do anything Strat. And I do mean Do Anything! Versatile electric tones? YEP! The Seymour Duncan P-rails system is amazing. I had a treble bleed added to the circuit, so everything stays nice and bright. Push-pull pots allow the p-rails to run as single coils, P90's, parallel humbuckers or series humbuckers. The single rails have an output about 7K, the P90's around 9K, and the Humbuckers are 13K in the neck and 18K (!!) in the bridge. So they easily cover almost every sound you can imagine. The volume pot is a push-pull as well, and it adds the neck pickup to any position of the switch, allowing for a wide variety of pickup combinations. Then we have the FULL Graphtech system. The Graphtech Ghost saddles, connected to the Acoustaphonic preamp produces a very convincing and usable acoustic sound. (As good as any piezo pickup is going to produce.) And the Hexaphonic preamp sends the signals, via a 13 pin cable to any compatible synth system where the tonal possibilities are virtually endless. Seriously, last week at church I played a flute intro to a song! In addition, I had the neck hand rubbed to a satin finish, upgraded to Fender Factory chrome locking tuners, roller string tree, a tremolo spring to hold the trem handle in position correctly, and Dunlop Strap Locks. I also had the volume knob moved to the "Delonge" position, closer to the 5-way switch. The mini switch between the tone knobs is the up-down patch switch for the midi system. It allows you to make patch changes, for instance on a Roland GR55, from the guitar without having to use pedals. I absolutely love the guitar and hate to part with it. I sat down last night and added up what I spent on it and not counting what I paid to have things installed, in parts alone I'm at over $1,600! The guitar was $600 on sale, the Graphtech system was over $500, and the Duncans were $300 by themselves. So someone out there is going to get a crazy good deal on the most versatile Strat in existence! I also have the original pickups, the complete IOS system, and the original gig bag. There are also a number of pieces in the Graphtech system I ended up not installing: a couple of switches, a volume pot, and optional wires, along with the complete instruction manual. All are included in the buy it now price. Feel free to ask any questions.
