From around 2000. The flame is AWESOME and the condition is near mint! BUT wait there's more! Yes I have the truss rod cover without my name on it and it comes with that and not the one that says 'Charlie x'. but it ALSO comes with 2 additional pickups! and they are mounted on separate pickguards and there is a male female jack that allows you to switch them out quickly. Just unscrew one guard and slap the other one on and ur good to go. BUT WAIT! These are not the cheapo crap pickups that normally come on Gibson...that one is shown with the ORIG black pickguard (comes with!) ..that sounds like crap, but the one installed is a Bartolini and the other is a HAND WOUND Kent Armstrong...not the chinease stuff either..hand wound BY KENT himself. The Barto and the Kent sound GREAT with this guitar but I give the edge to Barto and have left it on the entire time...but you get them all. The pickguards themselves are not top of the line but the installation is. If you want to (no idea why you would ...but) you can put the orig back on and everything would be exactly as original...but having these other options make this not only one of the best looking 165s you ever saw but also the best SOUNDING. I think that's important. The frets are beautiful...not much playing on this one. See my other auctions for a LOT of other stuff. This guitar through my polytone KILLS most guitars with built in buckers ( I have 2 175s ..this hangs with them NO PROBLEM and is sweeter in tone..no tinny crap sound like with the orig pup) One of my 175s will also be going soon...its white alpine...anywho....email with any question. I will pay the first $50 of shipping and you got the rest. THANKS!!
