The LM-600 hand-carved, nitrocellulose-finished F-model mandolin is a tribute to classic design techniques. From the hand-carved, hand-graduated solid spruce top and solid maple back and sides to the abalone/mother-of-pearl headstock inlay, these mandolins were built to represent Golden Age craftsmanship updated for the modern era.Carved and assembled in The Loar Hand Carved Design Workshop, then hand-rubbed with nitrocellulose lacquer, the LM-600 has an authentic pre-war-style bark that will impress even the most avid vintage purist.The LM-600 is assembled with a rounded "V" profile maple neck and bound ebony fretboard, compensated ebony bridge and vintage-style Gotoh tuning machines. The bone nut and ebony bridge allow for the singing sustain that professional players look for in a high-quality hand-assembled mandolin. The nitrocellulose lacquer is thinly sprayed on the mandolin and then hand-buffed for a finish that is beautiful and lets the voice of the instrument speak clearly.Inspired by the pioneering designs of the Golden Age, guitars and mandolins by The Loar combine expert craftsmanship and classic designs with upgraded features to appeal to today’s players.
