1911 Lyon & Healy "Student" Full-Size 4/4 Violin Amati Model-Made in France-VGC

I have for sale a rare and exquisite 1911 Lyon and Healy Amati model "Student" model 1024 full-size, 4/4 violin, made in France.A bit of research on this violin. In 1911 it cost $28. "These instruments may have been categorized as "student" instruments but were designed for orchestra work by mid level to advanced players." They were made using Romanian Spruce and with European Maple sides and back. As you can see in the photos (which really do not do this violin justice), the back and sides are incredibly figured...absolutely breathtaking.This Lyon & Healy is in very good condition, with the exception of several cracks, which have been carefully, and tightly glued. Two of these limited cracks are "sound post cracks." The instrument sounds stunning with no vibration or spurious sounds. Also, there is a scuff under the fingerboard, likely an attempt at polishing it too aggressively. It has a bit of scuffing on flange and corners as you'll see in the photos. If not for these imperfections, this instrument, in this incredible condition, would sell for well over $2,500.The violin has been cleaned, a Teller 3-star bridge cut and hand fitted, and outfitted with Perlon strings. This violin is no wall-hanger. It is ready to play. The violin has been fitted with a new set of ebony pegs. It has a set of German post-style fine tuners that work smoothly.The case is fully functional and may be original as it is covered in faux alligator, with some ripped here and there. It is missing a handle, which could be replaced. I'm throwing in a vintage bow, re-haired by Craig Scollier, noted violin maker in Pasadena, CA.
