This is an extremely rare opportunity to acquire all three books published over a ten year period concerning the collection of instruments by Akira Tsumura.He is the owner of one of the Worlds greatest private specialist instrument collections. You sometimes get one of the books come up for sale but it's rare to find all three together. The books are in order of publication- The Red Book of BANJOS from 1984 ( a first edition)....inc it's Japanese version booklet etc. The Green Guitar book number 0433 of 3750 from 1987 and the Massive Brown 1001 BANJOS from 1993 These limited edition and first edition reference books of photographs and technical information are an appreciating investment reference and a substantial work of art. They detail banjos,ukuleles,guitars and many other instruments collected in Japan by Mr Akira Tsumura. The three books have been slowly collected by me over the years from far flung places and are of ultimate quality and collectibility and an appreciating investment. The 1001 banjos book itself is a massive volume weighing a staggering 16lbs(7kg). It was published in 1993. It is contained in its in its original brown opening box and cream slip cover.The book itself is cream. As a collector myself I know that these books are held in great esteem by private collectors and the 1001 volume alone is known to have exchanged hands over the years for thousands of Uk pounds £. These fine reference books are very highly prized and are a photographic history of Mr Tsumura's collection. It may take you a lifetime to acquire all three books. These books were made at the vast expense of Mr Tsumura to his exacting standards. It is said that a reprint would not be viable due to the dissimbursement of the collection and the books very expensive hand made top quality construction The Tsumura Banjo collection has sadly now since been sold off in parts and no longer exists in its entirety.You sometimes will see instruments for sale where the seller makes reference to them being portrayed in these reference books.
