in excellent condition, with the original hard shell case (which lacks a working handle. Handle can be replaced easily). It displays the lovely natural top that has turned pumpkin color from time and too many martinis, and has the brown finish sides and back, and the natural mahogany neck. This extremely fine sounding A-style mandolin is “all there” including original tuners, bridge, pickguard with clamp and tailpiece with cover, and an original hard shell case. The mandolin shows small normal signs of use including just a few dings (of no repercussion) in the finish of body, neck and headplate, there is some subtle discoloration from the hand on back of neck. It has its original "Pat. Mar. 30 '09" pickguard legend, “July 4, 1911” side clamp patent, original one-piece ebony bridge and quite shiny and comely “The Gibson” slide-on tailpiece cover with floral etching. The tortoise shell-colored pickguard is hale and healthy, and it even still has the little metal guide pin that’s received by the hole in the bridge base. There are a few circular scratches on the headplate from string changing. Although it doesn’t look as if it was used very much, this extraordinary sounding mandolin was lovingly played by its original owner and shows very minor fretwear. There is nothing prettier to the ear and as pleasing to the eye than a Gibson natural top mid-teens A-model mandolin, and we are quite positive that, when you pick this up and play it you will agree that it is one of the most fulfilling experiences you have had with an 8-string, four-course, 14" scale length harbinger from 100 years past, a true spruce, maple and mahogany amalgam of acoustic authenticity.RETURNS MUST BE SHIPPED BACK WITHIN THREE DAYS OF DELIVERY. NO EXCEPTIONS.
