A fine antique french master violin made by Etienne Perrin circa 1840.Fine antique french master violin made by Etienne Perrin in Mirecourt circa 1840.  Attention : wonder! This violin was made by a fantastic master of the first half of 19th century in France, Etienne Perrin. We already had a couple of very interesting pieces by this master, but this one is really the most beautiful one. The work is stunning, and the woods employed wonderful. The top is made of a single piece of spruce, and shows regular grain lines widening to the right. The back is made of one piece of very nicely flamed maple, the curl dancing. The purfling is precise, the f holes are carefully carved in the style of Didier Nicolas Ainé. The purfling ends with bee stings on corners. The head is astonishingly elegant. The ribs, neck and head are original to the instrument, and the neck button has never been changed nor broken. Now the best part : the varnish, of an orange-brown color, is of the most beautiful texture and look you can imagine. René Vannes said his varnish was close to the one of Aldric, and I believe it when I see its quality. The violin is in a very good condition, with a repair at the upper right of the top, and a little crack under the top hole of the right f hole, closed (not patched though).  There is a little loss at purfling at the left of the button, and a few nicks and dents. The ebony pegs are early 20th century, work nicely and have nice gold ends. On the inside back can be found the original fire brand of the master, "E. PERRIN FILS".The violin has been revised and set-up, including a new rosewood tailpiece with ebony fret, a rosewood chinrest, a Despiau bridge and Thomastik Dominant new strings set.The sound is beautiful, mature, warm, brillant, powerful, with a great projection : a fine french concert violin that will allow you the most complete repertory! The violin is guaranteed 100% authentic and original.Dimensions are the following :LOB : 363 mm.Upper bouts : 175 mm.Middle bouts : 119 mm.Lower bouts : 215 mm.The instrument comes with a new rectangular case. Insured shipping to EU $50 and US $75.Happy bidding !
