For those not familiar with the T5, it's a hollow body with an active soundboard with a compound radius. The sapele top has is braced into an arch for better acoustic resonance. Like every T5, it features f-holes for a vintage vibe and to enhance that resonance even more, letting the top breathe and react to your playing attack. However, despite the guitar's shape and appearance, it is not an archtop and it behaves more like a flattop. It also comes with T5 electronics which includes a bridge and neck humbucker, dynamic body sensors as well as a 5-way switch with two active preamp/EQ controls and a volume control. All together it makes for one exceptional instrument.SapeleSapeles tonal output is consistent and balanced across the tonal spectrum, making it compatible with a diverse range of playing styles. Its comparable to mahogany but its higher density tends to produce a slightly brighter sound with more top-end shimmer.Macassar EbonyThis dense hardwood is typically clear and loud with considerable overtones and dynamic range. It has a strong bass and lower mids, clear highs, and a slightly scooped midrange like rosewood. Like koa, it often takes a little while for the tone to open up and become richer.
