The flute comes with the B foot, which is longer and allows the player to play more notes than an average flute. This flute is also an Open Hole flute, which makes the sound much more full bodied and open. For beginners small plastic hole plugs are available for purchase for a reasonable price. This allows the player to gradually get used to the open hole version by taking out the plugs one by one and practicing. The flute case is a hard shell with a velvet lining, enclosed by a leather zip up carrying case. The handles were re enforced by a professional seamstress for added protection. The case also has a hidden place for a cleaning rod that keeps it out of the way from the flute while stored. The flute comes with a moisture absorbing rod (black and white) that preserves the internal pads on the flute. I am the only previous owner of the flute and routinely cleaned the pads, outside of the flute, and case. The flute has played wonderfully over the years, and I hope I can pass it on to another student.
