Classic Alpine White gloss finish with black hardware, headstock and exposed coil pickups. The guitar has a nice action and the 60's slim taper mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard and MOP trapezoid inlays completes the black/white theme with a great feel. The frets are in excellent condition.The 490R and 498T pickups are well matched in tone with nice output. The volume controls pull up to split each pickup giving you the ability to mix combinations of single coil and humbucking. You have the best of both worlds. The guitar is equipped with a tune-o-matic bridge, stop bar tailpiece and Grover tuners. This instrument looks, plays and sounds as great as it looks. Includes the original Gibson Hard Shell Case. The arrival of the Gibson Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar in 1983 offered guitarists all the essential elements of a Les Paul Standard, including a carved top and humbucking pickups. Its simple yet elegant design quickly helped it become the most popular model in the Les Paul Series. The Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe Electric Guitar raises the bar with the cutting-yet-rich tone of a 490R humbucking pickup in the neck position and a 498T humbucking pickup in the bridge position, which are mounted on a carved maple top with a mahogany back. Controls include dual volume and push/pull tone controls to engage coil-splitting for an array of tones, and a 3-way toggle switch, hardware is finished in chrome including Grover tuners and Gibson's pioneering Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece. The Les Paul Studio Guitar shares the same quality electronics as some of its more expensive siblings. The Gibson 490R pickup has the tonal characteristics of an original PAF, but with a slight increase in upper mid-range response. The Gibson 498T bridge pickup is the 490 pickup's ideal complement. Taking the 490 one step further, the 498 swaps the Alnico II magnet with an Alnico V, thus making it a slightly hotter pickup with emphasis on mid-ranges and highs. The pole pieces on the 498T are also aligned a little further apart to accommodate the spacing of the strings at the bridge. Both pickups can be split via push/pull volume controls.
