This is the very cool G6128T-1962 double cut duo jet. This Duo Jet is styled after the models made post 1960 which added a "zero-fret" and double cutaway body design. Gretsch continued to use this body style and configuration with the Duo Jet for many years. It's a bit lighter than the single cut version and ads easier access to the higher frets. The Jet models from the Gretsch Professional Collection are top quality guitars that have a look, feel and sound all their own since their introduction in 1953. The Jet can be considered a solid body guitar because it’s constructed of a solid mahogany back. However, due to a heavily chambered body and a 3 ply maple top, the guitar retains some of the hollow body tone Gretsch guitars are famous for. Additionally this chambered body design makes the guitar very lightweight and well balanced. The duo jet's play extremely well with perfect action and neck angle combined with an adjustable bridge. This particular model has the classic sound of Gretsch Filter’Tron pickups and genuine Bigsby tremolo done in a high gloss black finish. The Filter’Trons are tremendous pickups with a very versatile tone from bright and snappy to big and warm. They sound great when played clean or with as much gain as you can throw at them. This is a brand new factory first guitar and comes with the deluxe Gretsch hard case, all documentation and the Gretsch limited lifetime warranty.
