This is a 1932 Bacon Banjo Style C with a B & D Resonator. The Serial number is 23132 and this is a Tenor 4 string with no frills. I'm thinking this is a Model 1? It is stamped "The Bacon Banjo Co., Inc. Groton, Conn. U.S.A on the wood bar. The resonator diameter measures 13" and the wood pot diameter measures 11". Overall length is 33". All nuts, brackets and screws are present and in great condition and there are a total of 24. The drum head is marked Remo Weather King. The bridge is marked Bacon. The tail piece has a "1" or a mark that looks like a seven.
The price includes the original case, capo (the plastic is a little gummy) and bracket wrench. The tuners are original and functioning.
Overall, the condition is very good. There are a couple of marks on the neck near the banjo drum. There is fading on the neck around the upper frets from playing. Neck appears straight and pearl dots are all present and in good order.
My grandfather from Kentucky originally owned this banjo and then it was given to my mother. I think the only song she knew how to play was "She'll be coming round the Mountain". Boy could she play a good version of that song.
