Here is one of lower and biggest playable shakuhachi in the world: 3.36 -102,5 cm- in D low.It's a piece of Madake "naturely dead" i'ved harvested in winter 2014/2015 in France. 8 nodes, banana shape, 2 holes are offset , insert utugushi, laquered inside with special biologic laquer, only 490 gr for his lenght, holes between 10 and 12 mm, it's a very rare ji-nashi with very good dimensions: 4.75 cm external top/ 4.25 near botom, 2.6 inside utagushi/2.4 narrower at the botom.Otsu low register is powerfull, round, kan first octave is easy and all notes are in tune even Ro kan, daikan is accessible without difficulty.the only limit with this instrument are the size..of your arms and hands: i'm 1 m 83 tall with medium arms and hands.
