Here's a rare limited edition model that was only offered in 2015. It's a Gibson ES349 semihollow. Basically the "dressed up" version of the popular ES339 with a few upgrades.If you love the looks of the venerable ES345, but want something in a smaller size, this is a great option. The aged inlays/binding, gold hardware, bone nut, nylon saddles, and rich cherry red finish are a nod to its vintage 60's big brother. New pickups, called MHS humbuckers, sound great - very much like an underwound vintage PAF.We compared this one to a very nice ES339 we have in stock. The 339 sounds a bit more like a mix between an ES and a Les Paul, while the 349 manages to have all of the 335/345 tone. Not sure if it is just the combination of these unique features, but it definitely has THAT sound.This instrument is very well balanced and lightweight - only 7 pounds, 2 ounces!The neck profile is a slim 60's - similar to what you might find with an original 60 to 64 ES.Tuners are vintage Kluson-style with the more authentic reissue buttons - not the ugly green ones!This example was collector-owned and has barely been played. Playability and tone are excellent. Includes the original Gibson Memphis COA, paperwork, and original brown Gibson hardshell case. (These cases are great, by the way, with extra padding inside).
