Description
PRS McCarty -This guitar is registered with NSA as an "UTW" Ultimate Tone Weapon!Read my feedback and buy with 100% confidence!
Near Mint Condition--may be a few light scratches or other imperfections but I can't find any. This run of McCartys with Brazilian Rosewood boards (The story is that Paul Reed Smith got the Brazilian from Martin--because the pieces were not big enough for acoustic bodies, sides etc,--when they were already 40 years old or so, now probably about 60 years old) were originally built from 2007 to early 2008 but couldn't be sold because of the CITES Treaty ban on Brazilian Rosewood (hence the "Custom Built For USA Only" mark on the back of the headstock). About 500 were finished in 2007-08 and the rest of the assembled unfinished guitars were put away and finished 2012 and later. This one is from those finished in 2013. The sound is simply amazing, as you might know if you've experienced the purely Korina (Limba)/Brazilian combination, and I think these are the best-sounding guitars PRS has ever made! Strong mids with a great 60's style "honk" to it and a sweet, singing sustain. It has a wide/fat (now called "pattern" by PRS) neck profile (.845 at the first fret - .965 12th fret) with a 1 11/16" nut giving it that nice full "old school" feel. A truly excellent example of what a great guitar PRS builds. Korina (Limba) body 1-piece Korina neck, Brazilian Rosewood fretboard, "Old" style bird fretmarkers, Gold-plated hardware, McCarty humbucking pickups, 3- way. volume, tone Push-pull coil tap, Stop tailpiece, Kluson style tuning machines, 25" scale, 1 11/16" nut width Original hardshell case in excellent condition. All case extras with hang-tag, etc.
