Original Music Industry Company Hula Blues squareneck guitar in green and cream. Production number is 8 497 7D which shows it made in 1987 and in wood. Although correct in the OMI owned sense, the 'Dobro' tag on this particular model is a misnomer inasmuch as there is no spider bridge in sight to designate it as that 'type' of resonator. Rather the biscuit bridge sits it in the Duolian camp (a la National) so think King Benny Nawahi, Casey Bill Weldon, Cliff Carlisle etc; these were golden era giants of the single cone lap guitar genre. The photos paint a thousand words.......possibly. Sorry about the Hall Of Mirrors distortion of me in the photo but the moons and stars coverplate is convex and shiny. I'm guessing the body is maple (laminated?) and the figuring on the sides is nice. Overall it's in clean condition and has the classic loud, boingy, biscuit single cone sound. Being a high action squareneck the neck has no is visible truss rod. It shows a slight pull where it joins the body but nothing worrying. The original (no pun intended) fitted hard case is included.
