This is a Martin D-35-P Dreadnought Guitar that is a powerhouse of acoustic sound and tradition. This D-35-P has a solid sitka spruce top that produces beautiful tones including bass (which this guitar is known for). The P is for the "low profile" neck that makes it that much more comfortable to play. This neck is super slinky and a blast to play, its very fast like an electric guitar, think a 60's Les Paul neck.. seriously!! no baseball bat here. To accentuate the treble, Martin uses lighter 1/4" top braces. Binding on the East Indian rosewood back and sides and a bound ebony fretboard add to this acoustic model's distinctive appeal. Special features include: bound solid sitka spruce top, 3-piece rosewood back, rosewood sides, bound ebony fretboard, and Martin Tuners. The neck is perfect and the action is super nice and there is literally very little fret wear. This guitar is in excellent condition considering it is a 1989 model. To be totally honest and have full disclosure, I put pictures up of a small ding you cant see unless you look above the sound hole toward the bridge and there is also a shot of a few tiny scratches, again you cant see them when you look at it, you have to look close at the bottom of the guitar. The back is perfect, not a scratch.. The bindings are as you would imagine, have a slight petina from age.. Hey its vintage! This guitar literally breathes when you play it. I have really never heard another guitar sound as fat and chimey as this one in a room. It blows away other guitars when I play it with other guitarists in a room. It gets comments from all of them. I don't play it enough and it needs to be loved! The case has blue fur inside, but only 1 of the latches is on there. they can be replaced but i will include the case as well. The serial number is 490047 and it is marked as a D-35 P on the inside.. there is a picture of that as well.
A new D-35 is 3500$, and they dont make the P model anymore with the thin neck.. this is a real players guitar.
